   The joint conference committee members of House and Senate will determine if APD
   goes to managed care HMO or not. Senate bill > no HMO, House bill > yes to HMO.
   They will likely meet week of May 2, 2011 so send an email to them.

     WSC ACTIONS

       1. Read the WSC letter that recently went out concerning the proposed HMO take over.

       2. Immediately contact everyone on your caseload about what the upcoming legislature is
           proposing to do.  You can use a template letter to send out to them in the sample letters
            section.  Click here to download sample family letter in MS Word Format.
       
       3. Assist your consumers and families with identifying the name of their representative and senator.
           You can click to left under "Contact your Repr or Senator" which helps identify correct person.

       4. You may wish to get together with other support coordinators in your area to share ideas and
            organize any contacts to may wish to conduct.

       5. Encourage consumers and families to write and call their state representative and senator.
           Consider going or having families go to Tallahassee during the upcoming legislative session
            to let lawmakers know how this change will impact them.

       6. Follow the news, updates on this site and on the web about upcoming APD and HMO status.
            Legislative committee meetings begin in fall and regular session starts March 1, 2011.  Go to
            our FaceBook page and interact with others about our mutual issue.
